Eddie Roland, 83, of Eden, NC went to be with the Lord Tuesday October 25, 2022 at Annie Penn Hospital.
Funeral Services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Saturday October 29, 2022in Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.C. Adams officiating. Burial will be in Danview Cemetery. The family will see friends 2:00 till 3:00 P.M. before the service at Citty Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence.
A native of Rockingham County, He was a son of the late Dewey and Allie Hicks Roland and had lived his entire life in Rockingham County. He was a retired maintenance employee with the NC Prison System in Wentworth with 15 years of service and was a former security guard at Miller Brewery with 20 years of service. Eddie was a member of Grace Baptist Church, he enjoyed watching sports on television, Duke Basketball and Carolina Panthers football were his favorite teams. He enjoyed being with family and looked forward to family gatherings. Eddie was preceded in death by his stepson: Timothy Stewart, his grandson: Scott Arrington Stewart, his twin brother: Freddie Roland, his brother: Clarence “Bud” Roland, his sisters: Edith R. Moore, Hazel Perguson, Betty McDonald, Margaret Peoples, and Jean Roland.
Survivors include his wife: Frances Hundley Roland of the home, daughter: April R. Walker (Mike) of Cascade, VA, son: Eddie L. “Butch “Roland (Wendy) of Huntersville, grandchildren: Jennifer Ricco (Juan), Justin Terry, Jamie Trent, Blake Stewart, Jacob Roland (Jerriana), Drew Roland (Elizabeth), and Rebeccah Roland, , great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Tanner, Graycen, Maddie, Jagger, Jaylon, and Josie.
