Obituary: DOUGLAS EDWARD SIMS

Douglas “Eddie” Edward Sims, Jr., 65, of Eden passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Gibson House Hospice Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm Wednesday before the service at the funeral home and other times at 161 Shannon Lane in Eden.

Eddie was born in Eden on March 12, 1958, a son of Douglas Edward Sims, Sr. and Delano “Dale” Britt Sims, both deceased. He was a truck driver with Mabes Trucking. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and gathering with family and friends. He especially loved his dog, Peanut AKA Bean.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Randy Sims.

Eddie is survived by his children, Chris Sims (Brandi G.) of Eden and Chelsey Walker (Dennis) of Stoneville; his sister, Sandra Vaughn of Eden, his nephew, Darrel Miller; his granddaughter, Riley Sims and numerous other children and grandchildren. He is also survived by Karen Woods, his loving friend who was honored to witness his peaceful exit from this broken world in the loving arms of his heavenly Father and can rest assured will see him again.
