Dorothy Shields Kendrick Joyce, 79, of Walnut Cove, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Authoracare Collective Hospice of Burlington.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Dorothy was born in Guilford County on June 5, 1944, to the late Benjamin and Mary Turner Kendrick. She earned her degree in fine arts from Guilford College. Being an artist, she loved all art and often attended art shows. Dorothy was a proud member of The Wise Women of Stokes County and enjoyed the meetings and fellowship. She also loved animals, especially cats, loved her family very much, and traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas S. Kendrick and William T. Kendrick.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Billy Joyce, Jr. and wife Angela of Graham; her daughter, Jacqueline Joyce of Richmond, Virginia; one grandchild, Ann Joyce; and two nieces, Terry and Deborah Kendrick both of New York.
