Dorothy “Dot” Carter Roberts, 91, formally of Mayodan, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Blumenthal Nursing and Rehab in Greensboro.

An 11:00 a.m. funeral will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Mt. Hermon Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.

Dot was born in Rockingham County on November 12, 1933, to the late John and Hallie Reynolds Carter. She retired from textiles and was a member of Mt. Hermon Methodist Church. Dot had a strong sense of community not only for her neighbors but her church family as well. She enjoyed traveling, especially with her late husband to Tennessee and Branson, Missouri. She also went on yearly family beach and mountain trips. Above all, Dot loved her family and making sure they all were together for every occasion.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Roberts; her daughter, Aleta Woods Vernon; sisters, Louise Bailey, Barbara Carter Pulliam, Lucy Lee Martin, and Inez Champion; and her brothers, Bernard, Thomas and Hubert Carter.

Dot is survived by her children, Donnie Lee Woods of Madison and Anne Roberts Kelsey of Greensboro; her grandson, Graham Anderson Beasley and wife Ash Mae; special family, Dena Wray, Bella Kelsey, and Pete Roberts; and a special friend, Hazel Hurd.
