Doris Virginia Malloy Pegram Moore, 95, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Beacon Place in Greensboro, NC surrounded by loving family and friends.

Doris was born on March 28, 1929 in Stokes County, NC to Reverend Dillard Malloy and Nellie Bullins Malloy. One of eleven siblings she grew up in the Stokesdale community. She married James Pegram on September 27, 1952 . They had one daughter, Diane Pegram born on July 8, 1956.

Doris worked for Blue Bell for nineteen years and then later retired from US Label in 1998. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, spending time with her family and attending True Gospel Baptist Church in Madison, where she was a day-one member since 1967.

After the death of James in September of 1999, she married Dennis Moore in August of 2003. They enjoyed ten years of companionship before Dennis passed away.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Dillard Malloy and Nellie Bullins Malloy; first husband, James Pegram; second husband, Dennis Moore; sisters, Mildred Ford, Sue Carter, Shirley Hogan and Lois Bullins; brothers, David Malloy, Raymond Malloy, Glenn Malloy and Clyde Malloy.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Pegram of the home; grandsons, Anthony Roberts (Brandi) of Climax, Nicholas Roberts (Candice) of Greensboro; great-grandsons, Noah Roberts (Brianna) of Reidsville, Kaiden Roberts of Greensboro and Oakley Roberts of Climax; sisters, Hilda Kiser and Helen Amick and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She is also survived by her special brother-in-law, Buddy Bullins; special family friends, Bill and Linda Courtney and special pet, Sami Ann.

We would like to extend our greatest thanks to the staff and nurses at Beacon Place in Greensboro for taking care of Doris in her last days. We will forever be grateful for her care.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at True Gospel Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Smith, Pastor Mike Manuel and Pastor Jerry Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday at True Gospel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends all other times at the home, 3907 Galway Drive, Greensboro through Friday and on Saturday at the home of Buddy Bullins.
