Doris Ann Gazda Ochoa, 71, of Eden passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
Doris was born on January 1, 1953 to Mother Jessie Nidermaier and Father Chester Gazda in Louisa, Virginia. In 2004 Doris met her companion Juan Laguna. Doris was a part of the Shipman Family Health Care team where she made many strong and lasting friendships with a company that treated her like family. She enjoyed going out dancing with her companion Juan on the weekends. She also spent much time in what she would call her “Modern Farm” where she tended to her animals, her garden and her honey bees. Doris earned her certification as a beekeeper. She was an avid observer of nature who created things from her garden that were handmade. She loved attending Church at Gospel Tabernacle and being a part of the community. Doris was big hearted and vibrant, and radiated light. She accepted everyone with an open heart, open arms, and a perpetual smile. She had immense passion for her family, spiritual work, and the natural world.
Doris was preceded in death by her mother Jessie Nidermaier, Father Chester Gazda, sister Judy Davis. Doris is survived by companion Juan Laguna, Sister Edna Jarquin, children Sidney (Laura) Woods, Anna (Thomas) Johnson and Sam Woods, God Son Alonzo Rodriguez, Grandchildren Antonio Woods, Shaniqua Goins, Jasmine Woods, Paris Gant, and Kionna Gant, and many great Grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
