Dora Faye Brim Sharpe, 83, of Madison, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Hospice of Rockingham County.
An 11:00 a.m. memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Wilson Primitive Baptist Church. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, May 11, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home and all other times at the home of her daughter, Jackie Dodson.
Faye was born on August 18, 1938, to the late Johnie and Pearlie Brim. She was a life-long resident of Stokes County, graduated in 1956 from Pine Hall High School, and was a member of Wilson Primitive Baptist Church. Faye worked in textiles most of her life and she loved her family very much. She loved reading, watching her birds, and doing word searches.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Jeffrey Sharpe; her brother, Phillip Brim; and her great-grandson, J.J. Joyce.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jeenie Shelton and husband Curtis of Madison and Jackie Dodson and husband Anthony of Madison; her daughter-in-law, Pamela B. Sharpe of Madison; her sister, Ann B. Joyce of Madison; her aunt, Irene Nixon of Madison; her grandchildren, Benjamin C. Shelton, Emily Grace Johnson, Joshua G. Sharpe, Kenneth Jeffrey Sharpe II, Michael A. Dodson, and William C. Dodson; and her great-grandchildren, James W. Shelton, Caroline R. Johnson, Caleb M. Sharpe, Tyler M. Dodson, Tristan S. Dodson, Breanna M. Dodson, Jesse S. Joyce, W. Isaac Dodson, Addyson M. Dodson, Collin F. Sharpe, and Leona M. Sharpe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
