Obituary: DORA “ANN” MABE

Dora “Ann” Mabe, 72, left this earthly life Friday, April 28, 2023, at Life Brite Community Hospital of Stokes, surrounded by her loving family.

     The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2023, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel, and all other times at the residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at the funeral home followed by interment in the Danbury Cemetery.

     Ann was born on November 26, 1950, in Stokes County, to the late Paul and Vannie Mintoria Bennett Mabe. She was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church and a graduate of North Stokes High School. Her main hobbies were gardening, jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She loved the Lord, her family, especially the grandkids, and the beach trips. Ann had a great sense of humor; loved to make people laugh. She only had good things to say about others.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Roger Mabe;

two brothers, David (Date) and Elwood Mabe; and two sisters, Alice Bradshaw and Louise McGee.

     Survivors include her children, Rodney (Dawn) Mabe, of Danbury, and Bridget (Jason) Faries, of Mayodan; and grandchildren, Mitchell Mabe, Emma Mabe, and Dylan Mabe, Gavin Faries, Addison Faries, and Sawyer Faries.

     Memorials may be made to Danbury Cemetery at 608 N. Main Street, Danbury, NC 27016.

     Colonial Funeral Home in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
