Donnie Ray Sizemore, Sr., 59, left his earthly life on Thursday, October 24, 2024 for his heavenly home. Donnie was born in Rockingham County on September 29, 1965, son of Perry Scott Sizemore and Mary Mabe Booth, both deceased.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Colonial Funeral Home in Madison. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Hermon Methodist Church Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall immediately after the committal.
Mr. Sizemore was a true workaholic, working seven days a week for the last several years. He was a strong-minded man, not easily persuaded. He was a funny, humble man, known to his family as a “Big Ole Teddy Bear.” Donnie had a mountain of love for his family, especially for his children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Goad and sister, Wanda Sizemore.
Mr. Sizemore is survived by his wife, Julie Richardson Sizemore; son, Donnie Ray Sizemore, Jr.; daughters, Karla Ford (Michael), Cindy Herbin (Antoine), Delilah Sizemore Reynolds (Christopher) and step-sons, Tommy Hutson (Laine), Ernie Hutson and Toby Richardson (Kim). Donnie was blessed with eight grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister, Renee Sizemore Ezzell (Ken) and his brother, Perry Scott Sizemore Jr (Wendy).
