Donald “Wray” Mabe, 62, a man of great faith, left this earthly life Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 2 pm, August 12, 2022, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Friends will be received beginning at 12:30 pm prior to the service Friday, and other times at the residence. Interment will follow at the True Gospel Baptist Church Cemetery, 7304 Salem Hwy, Stuart, VA.
Born on June 22, 1960, Wray was a lifelong resident of Rockingham County. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Walnut Cove, and worked as Operational Manager at Seal Master. He was an avid gardener who cherished his quiet time. Wray loved taking care of family and spending time with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Mabe; stepfather, Terry Lambeth; sister, Barbara Ann Mabe, and a brother, Donnie Mabe.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Vicky Tucker Mabe; son Dennis James Kallam II (Holly); daughters Aimee Nicole Scott (Chad), Nicolette Gail Rackley (Robert), and Melanie Dawn Hickman (Donald); mother Louella Bullins Mabe Landreth; brother, Eugene Mabe (Kathy), sister Peggy M. Martin (Thomas); grandchildren, Damion Scott, Larkin and Aila Scott, Aiden Hopper, Paxton Rackley and Kaelynn Rackley, Kailey Hickman, Amber Racklely Drechsler (Ben), Chase, Kaden and Corbin Rackley, Ethan and Noah Kallam.
