o be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8)
Donald Leroy “Donnie” Harrell, Jr. closed his eyes to this life and opened his eyes in heaven on 12/21/22 as he met His Savior face to face. He now knows unconditional love, pure joy, and complete healing.
Donnie grew up in Reidsville and lived here most of his life. He had a great talent for woodworking and was able to build nearly anything. He spent most of his career in the various areas of the construction industry. Donnie had a great sense of humor and a hearty laugh. Despite his own difficulties, he always asked how you were doing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Hundley Harrell, and his father, Reverend Donald “Don” Leroy Harrell, Senior.
He is survived by his sisters, Angel Harrell King (Rich) from Raleigh and Tina Michelle Hall (Mike) from Reidsville and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is also survived by his special, lifelong friend, Melanie Green and her family.
We would like to share our gratitude to Melanie for her faithful friendship and care for Donnie through the years.
A memorial service will be scheduled for January. Details to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Don’s memory to the Church Under the Bridge/Greensboro location.
Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Harrell family.
