Demetra McCollum Tucker, 57, passed away at Moses Cone Hospital on Saturday, December 23, 2023.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday December 28, 2023 at Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Friends may sign the register and pay their respects from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday at Colonial Funeral Home in Madison.
Demetra was born on February 22, 1966 to the late Douglas and Doris McCollum in Rockingham County, North Carolina. She loved being outside and tending to animals especially horses and her dog Rocky. Demetra also loved doing anything that involved crafts and arts.
Survivors include her sons, Austin Tucker (Ashlyn), Raven Tucker (Morgan); grandchildren, Adalyn Grace Tucker, Nora Jane Tucker; siblings, David McCollum (Nancy), Debra Williams (Zane), Daniel McCollum (Laurie); and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Second Chance Horse Ranch.
Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
