Deborah S. Finnk passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Finnk, her father, the Reverend Ray C. Stephens, her mother, Hazel D. Stephens, and sister, Joyce Brooks.

She leaves behind her beloved sons Stephen Thornton(Anita), Brian Thornton, Kevin Thornton, and Robby Thornton; brother, Doug Stephens(Terry); niece Jennifer Grant, and nephew, Will Rickard. She also leaves behind her grand dog, Callie.

Debbie graduated from Thomasville Senior High and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She pursued a career in entertainment working at Opry Land USA as a singer and dancer. After her career in music she became a teacher. She taught kindergarten, first grade, and later became a media specialist. She cherished her time in education and retired from Clark Elementary School in January of 2022.

She loved watching Tar Heel basketball and vacationing at Hilton Head Island every summer with her family.

Debbie’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20th at St. James United Methodist Church, 16202 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Tampa, Florida at 2:00 P.M. There will be a reception in the lobby from 1-2 P.M. for those that would like to come early.
