Deanna Gilley Young, born February 26, 1941, entered eternal rest Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Brookdale of Asheboro.
Deanna was a native of Stokes County. She was a graduate of Sandy Ridge High School, and grew up attending of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. When she and her late husband moved to Lewisville, she became a member of Fairview Moravian Church of Winston-Salem, and later a member Unity Moravian Church of Lewisville. Deanna was very active in the Moravian church until declining health. She loved gardening, sharing her beautiful flowers, especially roses with others. Her lifelong passion was art. She was a member of Associated Artists of Winston-Salem. Deanna was awarded recognition for her paintings. She was a hairdresser for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Dillard “Dee” Gilley and Edith Smith Gilley; husband, Wilbur Eugene “Gene” Young; and sister, Bernice Priddy Joyce.
Deanna is survived by her two sons Gregory Gene (Connie) Young, of Pleasant Garden,and Jason Trent Young, of Winston-Salem; and two grandchildren, Austin (Allison) young, and Allison “Alli” Young.
