David Wesley Rierson, 79, left this earthly life on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Wesley Long Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Summerfield Cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Mr. Rierson was born on September 1, 1942 in Guilford County to the late Oscar Thomas Rierson and Mattie Flippen Rierson. David was a 1961 graduate of Summerfield High School and served his country honorably in the United States Army National Guard. He retired from H.B. Fuller Company and went on to work for the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department as a civilian transport guard, a job he greatly enjoyed. For twelve years, David was one of the coordinators for the Summerfield Founders Day celebration and was an avid collector of belt buckles and toy tractors.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Blackwelder Rierson; siblings, Stick Rierson, Charles Rierson, Gretchen Sumner, Ken Rierson, Rachel Williams, Lane Greene and Jerry Rierson.

Survivors include his sons, Gregory Rierson and Todd Rierson; grandson, Jordan Anderson; brother, Michael Rierson (Barbara) and fifteen special nieces and nephews.
