David James Corns, 75, died Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Peters Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Randy Jessup officiating.

David was born, March 14, 1950 in Stokes County to the late Major James Corns and Clara Hazelwood Corns. David enjoyed all sports. He played basketball, baseball, and football at North Stokes High School where he graduated. He received multiple All Conference awards in basketball as well as an All Northwest award. David also received All Conference in football two years, and was voted the most valuable athlete in the history of North Stokes High School. David was an avid golfer, runner, and an active civic leader. He enjoyed his time coaching a girls basketball team. David was a big fan of the Duke basketball teams and Coach K. Outside of sports, David was a much loved and appreciated manager and supervisor while working at Macfield, Sara Lee and other textile companies for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Frank Luther; brother, Billy Corns; sister, Fae Martin; and special brother-in-law, Thomas Rodgers.

He is survived by his children, Jennifer Bullins (Tony) of Madison, Brian Corns (Toni Rhodes) of Walnut Cove, Hannah Hopkins (Geoffrey) of Jamestown; grandchildren, Cameron Corns, and Nate Bullins; sister, Ruth Rodgers of Lawsonville; brother, Clyde Corns (Tina) of Danbury; sister-in-law, Lillie Mae Corns of Madison; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and his beloved canine, Rascal.
