Dara H. “Buddy” Brinson, Jr. of Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord at his home Monday June 9, 2025.

There will be no formal memorial service. The family will see friends 1:00 till 4:00 P.M. Saturday June 14, 2025 at the home of his daughter Mindy Young 283 VanHook Rd. Reidsville, NC.

A native of Annapolis, MD, he was a son of the late Dara H. and Lottie VanHook Brinson and and had lived in the Benaja community of Rockingham County for most of his life. He was a retired employee of Ball Corporation Container Manufacturing in Reidsville, and was formerly a member of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) where he drove Formula Vee (FV) Cars. He enjoyed flying a gyro copter that he built himself, working around the farm and in later life taking long walks with his wife around the fields and woods of the farm. He loved all his animals and was preceded in death by a sister: Barbara Brinson Chambers.

Survivors include the love of his life his wife of 37 years: Kathy Beville Brinson of the home, daughters: Angy Brinson and Mindy B. Young (Michael) both of Reidsville, Tiffany Leah Brewer(Tony) of Summerfield, son: Bryan Brinson (Becky) of Charlotte, granddaughters Georgia Young, MacKenzie Young, and Willow Young all of Reidsville.

Buddy loved the words and meaning of this poem. Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a ride!” Let’s try again. Hunter S. Thompson

Memorials may be sent to: The Rockingham County Animal Shelter 250 Cherokee Camp Rd. Reidsville, NC 27320 or to AuthoraCare Collective (formerly Hospice of Guilford County) 2500 Summit Ave. Greensboro, NC 27405
