Obituary: DANNY LEE ANDREWS

Danny Lee Andrews, 83, of Summerfield, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Beacon Place in Greensboro.

A 12:00 noon funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Summerfield First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Kelly Bullard and Rev. Derrick Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Danny was born on October 4, 1940, to the late James and Janet Vaughan Andrews. He served in the United States Airforce and retired as a Lieutenant with the Greensboro City Police Department after 31 years of service. Danny was a member of Summerfield First Baptist Church. He had many hobbies including golfing, fishing, scuba diving, metal detecting, traveling, especially to Southern Police Associations annual get-togethers, and helping seniors. Danny loved antiques and was an avid coin collector. He also enjoyed sports, especially the Atlanta Braves, helping children, good food, especially hot peppers, and watching westerns.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his step-grandchild, Jordan Capitano.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Hilda Lewis Andrews of the home; his son, Timothy Lee Andrews of Newport, NC; his brother, James L. Andrews of Newport, NC; and his grandchild, Elexis Brooke Andrews.
