Obituary: DALLAS WALTER DECKER

Dallas Walter Decker, 90, of Reidsville, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Annie Penn Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM onTuesday, April 11, 2023 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Garth Winsor, Dr. John Check and Rev. Gene McDuffie officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens.

Dallas was born in Scotch Plains, NJ to the late Frank Edward and Lillian Grace Decker. He completed William Allen High School in Allentown, PA, graduated from Houghton College in Houghton, NY, and then continued seminary work at Grace Theological Seminary and Faith Theological Seminary. He served as a pastor in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia and North Carolina. Dallas was a Christian educator and teacher in schools all across North Carolina. He served as President of The NC Association of Christian Schools and was an active member on the board of Teen Valley Ranch. After retirement, he enjoyed delivering for Layne’s Pharmacy for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Beth Mead Decker; children, Sheryl Check and husband, John, Cindy Baker and husband, Randy, Wally Decker and wife, Diane; grandchildren, Nicole Check, Mark Hollingsworth, Evan Baker, Tyler Decker, Brianna Decker and Bradley Decker; 4 great grandchildren.
