Obituary: CURTIS BULLINS

Curtis Ray Bullins passed away at the age of 82, Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

Curtis was a life-long resident of Stokes County. He was born on January 16, 1943, to the late Lemmie Burr Zealie Bullins and Onie Lee Lawson. He was retired from Kobe Copper at the age of 76 with 40 years of dedicated service as a machinist. Curtis was known in the community as a kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone. He was a hardworking man who loved his family. Curtis enjoyed and loved dirt track racing in younger years and continued to pass along his love of racing with his sons and grandsons. He also loved the art of making Stokes County firewater (or the original Mountain Dew).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Ray Bullins; brothers, Walter James Bullins and Danny Ray Bullins; and a sister, Nana Johnson.

Curtis is survived by sons, Michael Bullins (Darlene) and Johnny Ray Bullins (Tammy); one granddaughter, Alisha Nicole Bullins, who was never forgotten; two grandsons, Alan Bullins (Laura) and Corey Bullins (Allison); brothers, Alvin Bullins (Joyce) and L.B. Bullins; and a sister, Jean Martin.

Friends will be received from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2025, at Colonial Funeral Home followed by a 3 p.m. graveside service at the Bullins Family Cemetery, 1677 Martin Farm Road, Madison, N.C. The family will also receive friends Saturday, February 22, from 12 to 5 p.m. at the family home.
