On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, Clifton Ray Mabe, 91, entered eternal rest at LifeBrite Community Hospital.

Clifton was born on May 13, 1933, in Stokes County, to the late Ed Mabe and Lillie Mae Bullins Mabe. He was a retired farmer who enjoyed sharing vegetables from his garden. When health permitted, Clifton attended Peters Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Clifton was preceded in death by two brothers Dallas Mabe and Jimmy Mabe, and a sister, Barbara M. Handy.

Clifton is survived by his wife of 71 years, Earline Collins Mabe; daughters, Cathy M. Hall and husband Billy Joe Hall and Joyce M. Cromer and husband Benny Jarrell Cromer; three grandchildren, Mandy McKnight (Dale), Crystal Hall Morris (Zachary), and Codey Cromer; and five great-grandchildren, Bryce Hooker, Saidee Shelton, Kynley Cromer, Macey Cromer, and Everly Hazel Morris; and two great-great-grandchildren Waylon Hooker and Weston Hooker.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the Rhodes Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the graveside service.

Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
