Clifford “Cliff” Wayne Ellington, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning, March 24, 2023, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, April 1st, at McMichael High School Gymnasium in Mayodan.
Clifford was born November 21, 1966 in Rockingham County, NC. He was currently employed with Ruger in Mayodan where he has worked for the past 10 years. He is a retired Public Utility Director for Mayodan, an NRA instructor and a CPR instructor. Cliff was a Level 2 Firefighter with Mayodan Fire Department and was the retired Assistant Chief for Mayodan. He also served with Madison Fire Department and Shiloh Fire Department for a total of 22 years. In his spare time he was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife, Angie Plummer – Ellington of the home; son, Carson Wayne Ellington of Stoneville; daughter, Nora “Brooke” Ellington of Madison; three grandchildren, Madison, Jordyn and Bailey; his parents, Gary Wayne Ellington and Dorothy Coleman Ellington; three step-children, Krystal Jordan, Brooke Cobb and Tyler Birchett; five step-grandchildren, Katie, Kirsten, Layla, Kylie and Charlie; along with his brother, Gary Lee Ellington and wife, Lisa of Reidsville.
