Clifford Eugene Martin, 83, died on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at his home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2022 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bald Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and all other times at 251 Ziglar Road, Madison.
Mr. Martin was born on August 16, 1939 in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Lawrence Clifford Martin and Annie Willard Martin. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and retired from Liberty Embroidery as a truck driver. He will be remembered for always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. His greatest joy was spending time and loving on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clifford enjoyed sitting on his porch and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Nancy McHone Martin; son, Robin Eugene Martin “Coonie;” brothers, Billy Stovall and William Martin “PeeWee” and sister, Helen Stovall McHone.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Sandy Martin Neugent (Jeff); son, Bobby Ray Martin (Delphine); granddaughters, Jennifer Nelson (Brian) and Heather Martin; grandsons, Bobby Martin, Jr. (Nikki) and Matthew Hill (Kayla); great-grandsons, Lukas Nelson, Nicholas Hill and Asher Hill; great-granddaughters, Mackenzie Martin and Emmy Hill; brothers, James Martin (Pat), Jimmy Martin (Gertice) and Joe Martin (Kathy); brothers-in-law, Johnny McHone (Marie), Alvin McHone “Fluto”; Jimmy McHone (Rita) and Butch Hill and sister-in-law, Rachel McHone.
Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
