Obituary: CLEMENT LEE MOORE

Friday, April 4, 1930 was the beginning of life for Clement Lee Moore, born to Clifton and Bessie Lee and Friday, January 6, 2023 was the end of his life on earth.

    Clement joined the Army at an early age. He later went into the Air Force during the Korean War. After the Air Force, Clement used his GI bill to learn and study about farming, which he would do for about 25 years after retiring from McLean Trucking Company. He purchased his homeplace from his brothers and moved back home to Lawsonville, NC.

    He was preceded in death by his wife Hazel in 1963 and his wife Janet in 2018. Clement had four daughters, Gail Tuttle (L.B.), Karla Hutcherson (Greg), Tina Phillips (John), and Teresa Marsh (Randy).

Clement enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren which include Thomas Tuttle (Kimberly), Jason Tuttle, Darryl Tuttle (Morgan), Christopher Williams (Erica Moorefield), April Kaylor (Jason), Alan Phillips (Erica) and Kristoffer Phillips (Nicky), Jessica Bowen, and Curtis Bowen. He also has twelve great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons.

    He was also preceded in death by his three brothers, Tom (Gilda), Dean, and Lloyd.

    A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 2 p.m. with family visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, in Sandy Ridge. Burial will follow at Salem Chapel Christian Church Cemetery in Walnut Cove.
