Claude David Chambers, 54, of Eden, NC, went to his Heavenly home on the morning of June 18th.
There will be no service per his request.
David was born on July 10, 1967, in Danville, VA, to Anne Gail Braswell and Thomas Serenus Chambers. He attended Rockingham County Schools and graduated from RCHS, Class of 1985. He also graduated with honors from Rockingham Community College with an Associates Degree in Industrial Systems Technology. He was retired from Karastan. He was also a volunteer fireman for Eden Fire Station No. 2 for many years.
David was preceded in death by his father, Tom Chambers; his stepfather, Tommy Baucom; his grandparents, Crystal Haymore and Serenus Chambers, and Juanita and Calvin Balser.
David enjoyed playing baseball in his earlier years and loved to golf and hunt. He loved music, especially Southern Rock and country music; he also enjoyed amateur photography and nature. More than anything else, he adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them and teaching them how to make things. He thoroughly enjoyed spoiling his wife and his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandra Setliff Chambers; his son, John Thomas Chambers (Lauren); his Mother, Gail Baucom; Stepdaughter, Lynn Brannock (Corey); Stepsons, Stephen White (Tracy) and Matt White. His beloved grandchildren, Trevor, Chase and Ella Brannock, Mackenzie and Mason White, and his “adopted” granddaughter, Brandalyn Hodges; his brothers, Tommy Chambers (Virginia); Randy Baucom (Tracey); Chad Baucom (Beth) and sister, Carrie Baucom. He had many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved; and his beloved pets, Beau and Ruger; and his many special friends whom he cherished.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the nurses in ICCU at UNC-Rockingham, Dr. Khoury Vendura and Dr. Megan Straughn, for the excellent care and compassion shown to both David and his family.
