Clarence James “Hammer” Hennis, 80, entered the pearly gates of Heaven on November 28, 2024.
Clarence was born in Rockingham County, North Carolina to the late Myrmous and Juanita Short Hennis on December 4, 1943.
Clarence was a loving Husband, Daddy, Papa, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, pier fishing at the beach, antique shops and watching the Panthers play. He loved being outside and staying busy.
Clarence was employed by Macfield/Unifi for over 54 years and was still currently working. This was where he picked up the nickname “Hammer”. He loved working there. He loved everyone there and thought of all of them as part of his family. He made many great friends over the years there.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Shirley of the home; brothers, John Hennis (Shirley), Junior Hennis (Jeannie); children, Lisa Dills (Tim), April Varela (Jesus), Angela Foster (Micky Michael), Jamie Hennis; 9 grandchildren, Christie Miller, Robin Dills, Tim Dills Jr.(Kristen), Celeste Cook (Patrick), Michelle Ferrell,(Austin), Corbin Foster,(Alli), Matthew Hennis, Garrett Hennis and Connor Hennis; 12 great-grandchildren, Abby, Frankie, Kendal, Kaylee, Manuel, Raylen, Noella, Dorothy, Easton, Trey, Weston and Mia; brother and sister in law, Mickey and Lois Mabe; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Howell Hennis and a sister, Mary Ann Hennis Shelton.
