Obituary: CHARLIE MAURICE SCALES

Charlie Maurice Scales departed this life on Monday morning, June 13, 2022.

As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, he attended the local public schools and was formerly employed by Marcellus Cleaning Services. Being an avid sportsman, he was a fan of the UNC Tarheels and the Dallas Cowboys.

His parents, Rebecca Ann Dillard Scales and Bobby Leon Scales, Sr.; sister, Janice Gallant, preceded him in death.

Survivors are: sons, Charlie Scales, Jr. and Michael Scales; step-children, Tanya Broadnax and Daniel Bagwell; sisters, Annette Moyer (Charles) and Marie Scales; brothers, Bishop Bobby Scales, Delmore Zack Scales and Morris Lamont Scales; uncle, Robert Walker; aunt, Elaine Scales; brother-in-law, Michael Gallant; special friends, Jay Dillard, Johnny Brim, Johnny Roberts and Clint Broadnax; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from the Cornerstone Christian Center, 516 North Scales Street. The family visitation will be Wednesday from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Public viewing will be Tuesday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
