Charles Roberson Harward Jr., 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2024.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Mount Carmel Church Cemetery with Bishop Monson of the Pleasant Garden Ward officiating.

Charles was born to the late Charles Roberson Harward Sr. and Mildred Juanita Smith Harward on August 13, 1942, in Greensboro, NC. He was the oldest of four siblings; John, Larry,and Keith (Mary). He served in The United States Navy as an engineering aide (Seabee) from March 1963- April 1967 and served two tours in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, a Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He also served as a member of the North Carolina National Guard.

He wed Sandra Loiuse Strader on November 12, 1967. The bulk of his career was spent in the real estate division of Burlington Industries. He was a long-time, faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was the proud father of six sons; Dung Kim Nguyen (Thu), Charles Roberson III (Karen), David Arron (Angela), Jason Matthew (Mandy), Nathan Andrew (Dena), and Seth Ammon (Mary), 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
