Obituary: CELESTE VESTAL DEPRIEST

Celeste Vestal DePriest, 74, of Eden, passed Thursday, May 19, 2022, at UNC Rockingham Health Care in Eden, NC.
A memorial service will be held 4pm Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Visitation will follow the service.
Celeste was born January 9, 1948, in Spray, NC, to the late Clarence “Fat” Vestal and Louise Johnson Vestal Rickman. She was a 1966 graduate of Morehead High School and 1968 graduate of Rockingham Community College. She later attended Methodist College and graduated with honors in 1990. Celeste served on the Rockingham County School Board for 10 years. She ran “Best Friends of Rockingham County” for years. Celeste attended First Church of the Brethren in Eden for many years. She enjoyed crocheting. Most of all, she loved being with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jeff DePriest (Julie) of Reidsville, Jennifer DePriest (Posie Meadows III) of Eden; grandchildren, Tyler Swift and son Benjamin Swift of Draper, Ivy DePriest, Wyatt Meadows, and Finley Meadows, all of Eden.
In addition to her parents, Celeste is preceded in death by her Great Aunt, Nona Stone; step-father, Herman Rickman.
