Our beloved Catrina Lynette Knight, 44, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024, at home.
She was born July 26, 1979, in Henry County, Martinsville, VA, to Bonnie Lee “Bugs” Knight and Linda Vernon Knight. Catrina was a 1997graduate of North Stokes High School and attended Rockingham Community College where she was awarded several certificates in business. She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. She loved time with her family and was very proud of her children Michael and Jocelyn. Catrina enjoyed cooking, relaxing in the pool, watching birds, and loved her canine pets Ginger and Bailey.
She began working at the Fifty’s Drive- In while in high school where she received many compliments as a waitress. She moved into the cooking area at the restaurant and developed her skills as a cook. Catrina was also a past employee at Fuzzys BBQ and Mayflower Seafood. Catrina was employed with Southern Finishing in Stoneville
Catrina was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Wheeler and Mary Sue Plaster Knight; step-grandmother, Edith Mabe Duncan Knight; and maternal grandparents, George William Vernon and Jennie Freeman Vernon.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her fiancé, Mitch Gwynn; son, Michael Smith (Makayla Rogers); daughter, Jocelyn Gwynn; brother, Chris Knight; niece, Lexie Knight; nephew, Hunter Knight; and several loving uncles, and aunts.
