Cathy Wilson Mabe, 72, of 200 Sunset Dr. Eden, passed away with family by her side early Saturday morning, October 22, 2022, at UNC Rockingham Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

The funeral service will be 4:00PM Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3-4pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of J.C. and Melissa Adams, 210 N. Hamilton St. Eden.

Ms. Mabe was born July 10, 1950, in Roxboro, NC to the late Paul and Ruby Wilson. She attended Christ United Baptist Church, Eden. She worked 20 plus years for Fieldcrest-Cannon in the bedspread furnishing department. She was also employed as secretary for Scearce Tire and worked in the Walmart jewelry department a short time before retiring.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, H. Harold Mabe; brothers, Albert Wilson and wife, Ida, James Wilson and Marvin Wilson and wife, Ann; and sister, Inez O’dell.

She is survived by her daughter Melissa Adams and husband J.C. of Eden; son, Richard Mabe and wife Rebecca of Oak Ridge, TN; two grandchildren, James Adams, and Emily Gowan and husband Joseph; great-grandchildren, Axl and Ace Gowan; step-grandchild, Michelle Warner and husband David; step-great-grandchildren, Aamariah and Caiden Warner; sister, Evelyn Scearce and husband Cleveland; brother, Raymond Wilson; brother in law, Bubba Mabe and wife Angie of Johnson City, TN; her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Wilson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She loved spending time with family. During her sickness, she reflected and wanted to convey a message to all. Serve the Lord, have a relationship with him while you’re able…Time is of the essence. The family is grateful for the thoughtfulness and expressions of sympathy during this difficult time. Most of all to God who sustains us! Thank you to all the staff for the care received at UNC Nursing and Rehab.
