Cathy Gay Cox Claybrook, 70, passed away Saturday night, July 16, 2022.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, July 21st, at Christian View Christian Church, 543 Anglin Mill Road in Stoneville with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, 12 Noon to 2 PM, at the church and other times at their residence.
Cathy was born September 2, 1951 in Rockingham County, NC. She was a member of Christian View Christian Church where she has served as a Sunday School Teacher and a Youth Director. Her love of children was apparent in her life as she worked for many years in child care.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charlie M. Claybrook of the home; three wonderful boys, Michael Claybrook and wife, Dana, of Madison, Matthew Claybrook and Macon Claybrook and girlfriend, Carol Craig, both of Stoneville; two precious grandchildren, Cassie Claybrook and Sam Claybrook of Madison; brother, Charles Cox of Eden and sister, Shirley Diaz and husband, Rafael, of Mayodan.
Preceding Cathy in death were her parents, Charlie D. Cox and Veona Dodson Cox.
Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel in Madison is serving the family.
