Obituary: CAROLYN SOMERS DOVE

Carolyn Somers Dove, 79, of Ruffin went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church at , 9904 NC Highway 150, Reidsville with Pastor Jason Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and the graveside committal will follow the service at Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery.

Carolyn was born to the late John and Helen Somers. She retired from Burlington Industries after many years of service. She was a devoted wife and mother. Flowers, plants, and decorating for the holidays were some of her passions. She was also a fashionista and tried feverishly to make sure James and Jimmy were dressed for the occasion at hand. Her daughter Judy was left out of the wardrobe incidents due to inheriting her mother’s fashion sense.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her five sisters and her son, Chad Lee Dove.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 61 years, James I. Dove; children, Judy Dove Tuttle (Tommy) and Jimmy H Dove (Jeanine); grandchildren, Adam Tuttle (Brooke), Jamie Dove, and Abbi Dove; great grandchildren, Noah, Abel, Kadence, Annaliese; sisters, Betty Bailey and Kay Lawrence as well as a large and loving extended family.
