Carol Rae Chatham Burgess, 75, passed away on Monday March 17, 2025, at Annie Penn Hospital.
Carol was born in Rockingham County to the late Daniel Lee Chatham and Mary Magdalene Capps Chatham. She was a long-term member of Lively Stones Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir and “cutting up” with members. Both Carol Rae and Charles served with the youth faithfully. Most of all she loved her family. The family is comforted knowing she is in heaven with Jesus and can now see.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wesley Burgess; son, David Wayne Southard and her brother, Darryle Chatham.
Carol is survived by her sons, Vance Southard (Wendy); Roger Dale Southard; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Marsha Petty (Kenneth) and Mona Southard as well as a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
