Carol Ore Martin, 80, fulfilled her life’s journey peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, November 21, 2023, at Gibson House (Ancora Compassionate Care, formerly Hospice of Rockingham County) in Reidsville.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, November 25th, at Mt. Hermon Methodist Church in Madison. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 – 2 PM) at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Carol was born April 20, 1943 in Forsyth County, NC to the late James Harvey Ore and Clarice Manuel Ore. She was a member of Mt. Hermon Methodist Church in Madison for many years. Carol retired from Gem Dandy but most of her working life was spent alongside her husband tending their tobacco farm. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her two sons, James Dean Martin (Mary Jane) and Daryl Wayne Martin; daughter, Rena Bullins (Kenny); six grandchildren, Ashley Hall (Jordan), Brooke Fairly (Tyler), Sara Martin, Justin Bullins, Kaitlyn Bullins and Melanie Hickman (Donald); great-granddaughter, Kailey Hickman; brothers, Woody Ore and Leon Ore; along with a sister, Becky Joyce.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Tommy “Billy” Martin.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to all family and friends for the visits and prayers; and also a special thanks to the staff of Ancora Compassionate Care for all their love and support.
