Obituary:  CAROL JUNE TURNER LAWRENCE

 Carol June Turner Lawrence, 65, of Stoneville, N.C., departed this earthly life Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at SECU Jim & Betsy Bryan UNC Hospice Home, Pittsboro, N.C.

     Born August 13, 1957, in Franklin County, VA, June was a 1975 graduate of Franklin County High School and received a BA from Greensboro College. She was a member of Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church and a past employee of the Rockingham County School System. She loved church, family, being a “memaw”, cooking, drawing, and was passionate about teaching and animals. June was a caregiver to anyone who needed her.

     She was preceded in death by parents, Larry Edward Turner and Delane Wray Turner.

     Survivors include husband of 42 years, Michael Lawrence; daughter, Traci Lawrence Burroughs (Javier), of Rota Spain; son, Michael Brad Lawrence (Nicole), of Fieldale, VA; sister, Dianne Turner, of Eden, N.C.; granddaughter, Scarlett Burroughs; nephews, Jared, Adam, and Joel Stump; two special aunts, Alberta and Kitty; and many cousins.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church Multipurpose Building followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park, Rocky Mount, VA.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Rockingham County Animal Welfare Society.
