Carlton “Wayne” Cook, 86, of Mayodan, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital.
Wayne was born on July 23, 1938, to the late Claude and Stella Nunn Cook. He worked for Joyce Furniture for over 20 years, and retired from Frontier Spinning after 13 years, and was a founding member of the Northwest Volunteer Fire Department. Wayne loved mowing, gardening, eating at Ronnie’s, and his dog, known to him as his “boy”, Rowdy.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Kaye Joyce Cook of the home; his daughter, Tonya Kaye Cook Hudy (Ricky); his brother, Steve Cook (Mary Ellen), his grandson, Marc Hudy (Brandi); great grandchildren, Alexis “Lexi” Hudy, Ava Hudy, and Natalie Hudy; and his “Boy”, Rowdy.
