Obituary: CARLTON FIELDS JOYCE

Carlton Fields Joyce, age 77, was reunited with his parents in heaven on Monday September 9, 2024.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Friday, September 13,2024 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Entombment will follow at Overlook Cemetery Mausoleum. Military Honors will be given by the Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held one hour to the service, from Noon to 1pm, at Fair Funeral Home.

Carlton was born on June 1,1947 in Rockingham County to the late Worley Bryant Joyce and Gaynelle Fields Joyce. He served his country proudly in the US Navy while stationed on the USS Independence. Carlton later attended Rockingham Community College, where he earned a business degree and went on to open and operate Carlton Joyce Wrecker Service until his retirement.

Carlton was a dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge #136, AF & AM, supporting the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford, NC and the WhiteStone Retirement Community. He also served his community as an employee for the City of Eden and a long time firefighter. He was currently employed and a member of the Napa Auto Parts family. Carlton enjoyed his morning breakfast meet-ups with his friends and Sunday drives around town.

Carlton is survived by his daughter, Mitzie J Purdy(Greg), of Eden, his brother Jimmy Joyce (Cindy) and his sister Robin Joyce Helms of Eden.

The family would like to thank all of Carlton’s friends at the City of Eden and his “NAPA family” for their friendship and support throughout the years.
