Carlton Earl Austin loving husband of Barbara Ann Rankin Austin passed July 4, 2024. Carlton was born to Daniel and Muriel Austin on January 9, 1935 in Reidsville, NC.
Carlton loved the Lord and his calm, sweet spirit was bestowed on his wife and all that knew him.
He and Barbara made their home at Myrtle Beach, SC. Carlton had a passion for clocks, watches, and old pocket knives. He enjoyed visiting flea markets in the area, as well when on trips might stop in on a few. He enjoyed planting flowers and having a small garden. He was a very handy man. There was hardly anything he could not fix or come up with a way to make life easier. He loved baseball and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers, as well he enjoyed many games of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
Carlton joins his parents in heaven. He is survived by his wife Barbara Austin, his son Mark Austin (Susan), step-daughter Cindy Reynolds, step-sons Randy Winston, Keith Winston (Tina), step- grandchildren Crystal Francis, Heather Van Der Hyde (Chris), Jeremy Winston (Sarah), Rodney Winston (Jessica), Karli Winston, and Courtney Winston, as well five great step-grandchildren.
