Bryce Richardson, 72, died on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at his home.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Mayodan First Baptist Church with Pastor Torrey Easler officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the Family Life Center and all other times at the home.

Bryce was born on April 28, 1952 in Rockingham County. Bryce retired from the Unites States Postal Service, where he cherished his work and the connections he made. He was a master carpenter, dedicating many years working with his father at Richardson Builders, where they constructed many homes that stand as a testament to their craftsmanship.

Bryce was also a pioneer in agriculture, owning and operating Rockingham County’s first commercial vineyard. His passion for family was very evident in every aspect of his life as he was a devoted father and beloved “Papa B” to his grandchildren. He had a love for beach music and dancing, bringing joy to all with his lively spirit. Bryce found happiness in tending to his cows and his John Deere tractor. He took great pride in coordinating family reunions, ensuring that his loved ones came together to create lasting memories.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.L. Richardson and brother-in-law, Forrest Tate.

Survivors include his mother, Ruby P. Richardson; wife, Sara S. Richardson; son, Matt Richardson (Christy); daughter, Kelsi Erskine (Craig); step-son, Joseph Stancil (Courtney); grandchildren, Casey Richardson, Gabe Richardson, Owen Richardson, Emma Stancil, Aiva Stancil, Macrae Erskine, Olivia Stancil and Emberly Erskine; sister, Janice Tate; brother, Royce Richardson (Margherita); brother-in-law, Walter Sellers (Kim); sisters-in-law, Lee Sorrell (Michael) and Ann Redick (John) and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
