Brenda Saunders Strickland, 82, went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Chilton’s Family Home Care.
A native of Rockingham Co., she was a daughter of the late Millard Fillmore Saunders and the late Lela Walker Saunders Wright and she had lived in the Williamsburg Community most of her life. Brenda was a retired Assistant to the Financial Director at Rockingham Community College and a member of Thompsonville Baptist Church. She and her husband had been on several World Changers mission trips and she had served on many committees at the church. Brenda was preceded in death by her husband: Lowell Franklin Strickland, her parents: Millard Saunders and Lela Walker Saunders Wright, sisters: Judy S. Moore and Sandra S. McKinney, and her brother: Millard Fillmore Saunders Jr.
She is survived by her daughter: Kimberly Strickland Jones (Bruce) of Gibsonville, grandsons: Isaac Jones (Rachel) of Greensboro and Eli Jones (Shyanne Jobe) of Reidsville, her sisters: Shelby S. McBane of Snow Camp and Mona S. Gunn (Nelson) of Elon.
The family would like to thank her caregivers from Chilton’s Family Home Care: Leslie Chilton, Aimee Scott, Chyanne Trent, Carrie Kirby, Leah Nance and Mary Ellen Chilton for their loving care.
