Obituary: BRENDA JOYCE PUCKETT McMATH

Brenda Joyce Puckett McMath of McLeansville, NC (66) was unexpectedly called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on March 29th, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital, in Greensboro, NC. Brenda was born to Billy Ray and Rosa “Annette” (Calhoun) Puckett on March 3rd, 1958, at Annie Penne Hospital in Reidsville, NC.

Brenda graduated from Northeast High School in 1977. After completing high school, she pursued her passion for creativity as a floral designer. Working at companies such as PH Johnson, The Posey Shoppe, and Summerfield Designs. Throughout her floral career, she maintained a special friendship with Sharon Nance. For many years, she could also be found with a weed eater in tow, assisting Frank with his mowing business.

Brenda was known for her ability to make anyone she encountered feel as if they were the most important person in the room. She was incredibly selfless and always put the needs of others before her very own. This was evident in the many ways she dedicated herself to taking care of the needs of her family. She was the glue that held it all together.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents Billy and Annette Puckett, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and special friend, Lou Anne Gilmore. Brenda is survived by her husband, Frank McMath, daughter, Stephanie McMath Turner, and husband, Jonathan Turner, of Burlington NC; grandbabies, Mackenzie “Boogie Boo” Greeson (17) and Jackson Turner (6). She had an unwavering love for her husband, daughter, her grandbabies, and her family. Additionally, she is survived by sister Bonnie Griffin of McLeansville, NC; sister Betty Brantley (Gene) of Reidsville, NC; sister Billie “Sissy” May (Edward) of McLeansville, NC; brother Bobby Puckett (Kathy) of McLeansville, NC; nephews, Aaron Griffin (Sarah), Dylan Griffin, Gary Brantley (Stacie), Terry Brantley (Beverly), Eddie May (Wendy), Toby May (Betsy); nieces Bobbie Ferraco (David), Katie Morgan (Justin), Jennifer Shivley (Jeff) and Kelly Mosley (James); many great-nieces and great-nephews whom all held a special place in her heart.

Funeral services will be held at Hope River Church, at 4355 High Rock Road, Gibsonville, NC, on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024, where Brenda was a longtime member. There will be a floating visitation to take place at 10 am in the church sanctuary with the official service beginning at 11 am, officiated by pastor and family friend, Rev. Larry Pope. The graveside service will follow in the church cemetery weather permitting.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the caring and compassionate nursing staff and providers on 2MICU at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC, who provided exceptional, loving care to Brenda and her immediate family during her short stay.
