Brenda Ann Joyce Foley, 82, of Madison, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at her home.
Per Brenda’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
Brenda was born in Rockingham County on April 16, 1942, to the late Frank Edward and Mozelle Cardwell Joyce. She retired from Henry County Schools where she was loved by her students and taught for 33 years. Brenda was a very strong, honest woman with a lot of determination and grit. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and always enjoyed family beach trips. Brenda enjoyed observing wildlife, reading, and working crosswords.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Autry Foley; her sister, Teeny Amos; and her granddaughter, Kyla Anne Foley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Michele Gross and husband William of Holly Springs, Brian Foley and wife Rebecca of Gibsonville, and Bradley Foley and wife Christina of Summerfield; two brothers, Jack Joyce of Greensboro and Jerry Joyce and wife Barbara of Shiloh; and six grandchildren, Allison Peterson-Foy and husband Taylor, Jayson Gross, Blake Foley, Brock Foley, Erin Foley, and Joshua Foley.
