Obituary: BONNIE RUTH DICKENS

Bonnie Ruth Dickens, 76, of Wentworth, was called home on Monday, April 22, 2024; now in the arms of God, reunited with her parents and no longer suffering.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, April 26, 2024, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jeff Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at the Wentworth United Methodist Church fellowship hall after the service.

Bonnie was born in Rockingham County to the late Ernest and Thelma Tickle Dickens. She graduated from Wentworth High School and later received her BS degree in Business Administration from Greensboro College. She was formerly employed with the United Way and spent the remainder of her career with Redirections of Rockingham County. Bonnie served most recently as the financial officer. She was always one to serve others including the Boy Scouts of America, The United Way, Redirections, and her church. Bonnie was the first female Exalted Ruler of the Reidsville Elks Lodge. She was a longtime and faithful member of Wentworth United Methodist Church serving as the pianist and treasurer for many years. Bonnie never met a stranger and lived her life in service to others. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity.

Bonnie is survived by her brother Berkley Dickens and wife Deborah; a large extended family; and many friends.
