
Bonita Bryant Williams Connelly, 80, of Stoneville, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Penn Nursing Center.
A 3:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Mayodan Moravian Church with Rev. Leslie Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Gods Acre in Mayodan. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the church.
Bonita was born in Henry County, VA on October 27, 1942, to the late William “Bouse” and Madge Bryant Williams. She graduated with her teaching degree from Greensboro College and went on to teach for 30 years at both Elliott Duncan and New Vision schools. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority and a former member of Madison Service League. She was also a very active, longtime member and leader of Mayodan Moravian Church where she taught Sunday school class since 1963 and sang in the choir. Bonita enjoyed traveling, needle work, crafts, and making candles for the church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Michael Connelly; her sister Cindy Williams; and her granddaughter, Spencer Springs.
She is survived by her children, Laura Springs (Kevin) of Stoneville and David Connelly II (Susie) of Summerfield; her sister-in-law, Margie Hall (Bill) of Rural Hall; two grandchildren, Caroline and Claire Connelly; and her close friend, Gladys Joyce.
