Bobby Joe Tilley, 91, left this earthly life Monday, December 5, 2022, at LifeBrite Community Hospital of Stokes.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors by the N.C. National Guard..
He was born in Stokes County on April 29, 1931, to the late Rector Tilley and Ethel Flynt Tilley. Bobby was a US Army Veteran serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a past employee of Schultz Oil Company and retired from D. D. Bean and Sons. Bobby was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Lankford Tilley; sisters, Virginia T. Venable, Dorothy T. Reid, Angela T. Steele, Olin Tilley, Jack Tilley, J. Van Tilley, and an infant brother Kalon Tilley.
Survivors include his son, Bobby Wayne Tilley (Anna); grandchildren, Joey Tilley (Tempy), Ashley Rummage (Adam), and Tanna Tilley (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Baylee Tilley, Avery Rummage, Ella Rummage, Harper Tilley, and Tate Gore; sisters, Temple T. Shelton and Rexine T. Bennett.
Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 4543 NC 772 Hwy, Madison, NC 27025.
