Billy Wayne May, 77, of Stoneville, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Danville Hospital.
A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Ray Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Billy was born in Kale, Arkansas on June 20, 1946, to the late Quay and Helen Green May. He worked as a welder and was a member of the Boilermakers Union 30. He was a kind and loving man who had a great sense of humor and would give anyone the shirt off his back. Billy enjoyed music, fishing, and traveling, especially to the mountains.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Dwayne May; his daughter, Kimberly Lynn May; his brother, Douglas Dwayne May; and his cousin, John May.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elizabeth Kinsey May of the home; his daughters, Cecilia Bellegante (Curtis) of Charlston, SC, Caitlynne Kinsey (Caitlyn Beck) of Stoneville, and Victoria Lynn Kinsey (Jacob) of Stoneville; his son, Billy Newton May (Stephanie) of Callaway, VA; his sisters, Sue Church, Mary Rhodes (Ellis), and Donna Smith (Jimmy); five grandchildren, Constance May Keeling, Catherine Kinsey, Dalton Joseph Jordan, Magnolia Mae Jordan, and Justin May; two great grandchildren; his cousin, Paula May; and seven nieces and nephews.
