Billy Alexander Hall, 90, of Eden passed away peacefully at UNC Health on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
Bill was born in Fayetteville NC in 1934. He spent his younger years mostly with his grandparents, Georgia and Willie, in Ringgold, Va. tending tobacco. At 18 years old he obtained employment with Central Telephone where he spent his career until retirement after 37 years. After retirement he spent the remainder of his life gardening and growing tomatoes. Several people used to call him “The tomato man.” Bill was a long-time member of the Y’s men club and invested time aiding in their fundraisers to support the Eden YMCA.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Gaynelle T. Hall. He was also preceded by the death of his little four-legged friend Lucy. She was his world. Left to cherish his memory is his son: Tony Hall (Shonda) of the home.
The family would like to thank the ER staff at UNC Rockingham Health care for being so professional and compassionate about his care.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Rockingham County Animal Shelter or any no-kill shelter be made in Lucy’s honor.
Online condolences may be left for the family at fairfuneralhome.com
