Obituary: BILLIE DEAN HOPPER

Billie Dean Hopper, 54, passed away Monday afternoon, April 24, 2023, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, April 28th, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Knollhurst Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 – 8 PM, at Colonial Funeral Home and other times at their residence, 201 Old Wagon Trail, Madison.

Billie was born April 29, 1968 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Melvin Jackson Hopper, Sr. and Ruth Via Hopper. He was an electrician and worked for Starr Electric in Greensboro until his health failed him. In his free time, Billie loved to go carp fishing. His favorite place to do that was Hilltop Carp Pond. He also enjoyed playing golf with his buddies whenever he was able. Billie was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant granddaughter, Liliana Brogdon and his sister, Carol Anne Hopper.

Survivors include his wife of 17+ years, Penny Roberts Hopper of the home; son, Nicholas Brogdon; daughters, Victoria and Chelsea; three grandchildren, Loralei, Octavia and Sophia; brother, Melvin”Junebug” Hopper, Jr.; sister, Deanna Hopper Sizemore (Bobby Dean); niece, Misty Nelson; nephews, Chris Sizemore, Dean Sizemore, Cole Atkins and Matthew Hopper; his best friend forever, Louie Bullins; along with Daddy’s boy, Toby.
