Obituary: BETTY LEE HOPPER BARHAM

Betty Lee Hopper Barham born on October 31 ,1930. Went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2024 at Brookdale of Reidsville.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday July 2, 2024 in Evergreen Memory Gardens with Rev. Johnny Roberts and Rev. Lyle Milligan officiating. The family will see friends at the home of her son Ronnie.

As a lifelong resident of Reidsville, she attended Reidsville High School, and worked for Lorillard Tobacco Company in Greensboro for 33 years. Upon retirement , she volunteered for Annie Penn Hospital for about 10 years. She was a member of Baptist Temple Church in Reidsville from early childhood, where she taught the adult Sunday school class for 55 years and served on various committees. Due to declining health she attended Osborne Baptist Church with her family. She enjoyed traveling to the beach , gardening ,taking walks, neapolitan ice cream and spending time with family. She was often seen at the kitchen table early in the morning or late at night studying the Bible. She was very faithful to the Lord. Her most important roles were those of beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother -in -law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband David who was first and foremost in her life; her parents Russell and Iona Hopper; brothers Hampton and wife Virgina, Richard and wife Lorene, sister Mildred Edwards and husband Kermit, Virginia Cain and husband Hobart, Dorothy McDaniel and husband Raymond and Irene Hopper. She is survived by son Ronald and wife Gail; grandsons Scott and wife Melanie, Matthew and Carla; great grandchildren Holden, Maddie, Mason, Jackson and a number of loving nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at the memory care unit of Brookdale in Reidsville for their love and devotion in caring for my mother. Also, special thanks to AuthoraCare Collective (formerly Hospice of Greensboro) for their love and commitment.
